Never paste identifiable student information, full names, or graded work containing personal details into a public AI tool unless your institution has approved it and the tool meets privacy requirements like FERPA. Build rubrics with generic descriptions, then apply them to student work inside your own secure systems.
Keep Yourself in the Loop
Use AI to draft descriptors and speed up feedback, but make the final scoring decision yourself. When AI suggests a grade or comment, treat it as a second opinion you can accept, edit, or reject. This human-in-the-loop approach is both more ethical and more accurate.
